What is medical writing?
Medical writing involves documents that concern medicine or health care communication. Depending on their work or publication type, medical writers can have different kinds of readers. For instance:
Some medical writers write for the general public, others for health professionals, and others write documents for regulatory agencies like the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Are medical writers all the same?
No. Medical writers differ significantly based on the purpose of the documents created and the intended audience. Creating a package insert for a digital thermometer, for instance, is very different from writing a journal article.
Knowing the intended audience and adjusting one’s writing to the appropriate literacy level is essential. Medical writers can work on various assignments, from clinical journal articles to protocols. The work is technical and detail-oriented.

Our course is designed for professionals with backgrounds in science or writing. In seven weeks, students will have the opportunity to boost their capabilities quickly. Class sizes are small to provide individualized attention to each student.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

A background in science or writing and experience in medical writing. This class is intended for an academic or industry professional looking to advance their career.
